Pauline Firestone Celebrating 100th Birthday
GOSHEN — Pauline Firestone, former resident of Syracuse, will be celebrating her 100th birthday Thursday, May 10. She was born May 10, 1918, in Elkhart County.
She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1936. On Feb. 26, 1939, she married Louis Firestone. He died Nov. 11, 1985.
Her children include Martha (George) Yerger, Newville, Pa.; Jerry (Barb) Firestone, Noblesville; Tom (Shirley) Firestone, Elkhart; Mary Jo (Sam) Lundy, North Webster; Peg Halsey (John Halsey, deceased), Syracuse; Gary (Melinda) Firestone, South Bend; and Dave Firestone, Mishawaka. She also has 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pauline worked for several years in the cafeteria at Wawasee High School and was known for her “cookies.” She is a long-time member of the Syracuse Church of God.
She will be celebrating with family and friends on Mother’s Day. Pauline is one of God’s blessings to all who knew her. She is presently residing at the Courtyard Health Center, 2400 College Ave., #Birch 129-2, Goshen, IN 46528.
