Sidney Couple Arrested For Battering Woman
SIDNEY — A man and woman from Sidney each face multiple charges after the two joined forces to batter a women who was trying to intervene in another altercation.
Frankie Lee Poe, 45 and Kathy Jo Foreman, 38, both from 203 N. Monroe St., Sidney, are both charged with battery with moderate bodily injury, battery a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
According to a report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, officers were called on April 13 to respond to a battery in progress. When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke to a woman who police say had a large swollen bump on her left eye. The woman was complaining of pain to the left side of her face. She told police that Foreman began pushing another person and that she got between Foreman and the other person.
At that time, according to the victim, Foreman became upset and began punching her.
It was at this time the victim told police that Poe came over and knocked her to the ground and climbed on top of her and began punching her in the face. The victim told police that Foreman was punching and kicking her at the same time.
Police said the original victim of Foreman’s assault, as well as another witness, verified the victim’s account of events.
Foreman was originally scheduled for an initial hearing on Thursday, May 3 in Kosciusko County Superior Court Two. Poe is due in court for an initial hearing at 1 p.m. May 23 in Kosciusko County Superior Court 3.
