NorthWood Softball: Panthers Fall To Chargers
NAPPANEE – The Elkhart Memorial softball team finished strong to top NorthWood Friday night.
The Crimson Chargers scored seven runs in the final two innings to defeat the Panthers 9-4 in Northern Lakes Conference play.
The game was tied at 2-2 before Memorial tallied four runs in the sixth frame to take control. The Chargers then scored three more times in their final at-bat.
Memorial outhit NorthWood 13-5 in the contest. Leeah Wade, Cadence Lee and Ashley Asher all hit home runs to lead the way for the winners.
Halie DeMien led the Panthers with two hits.
Alexis Klotz, along with Kylie Thornton, Kylie Hochstetler and Grace Anglemyer, each had one hit for NorthWood.
NorthWood drops to 11-10 overall and goes to 4-7 in NLC play.
NorthWood returns to NLC action at Plymouth on Monday night.
