Students competed in the sixth annual Vex Robotics Exhibition tournament.

WARSAW — The Warsaw Area Career Center hosted the sixth annual Vex Robotics Exhibition tournament Friday, May 11.

Students participating in the event were given six weeks to build robots for the tournament. This year’s theme was “Splitting the Defense.” Teams of two to five students completed challenges with robots they designed and built based on the challenge constraints.

The tournament featured six teams from Edgewood Middle School, coached by Abbi Richcreek; two teams from Lakeview Middle School, coached by Justin Weaver; 14 teams from the WACC, coached by Paul Zakaria; four teams from Washington, coached by David Burden and Patrick Hazelton; and up to 10 teams from outside school systems.

Teams competed at least six times in qualifying rounds before being ranked.
