Festival Of Music Kicks Off Summer Concert Series At Art Fair
WINONA LAKE – The third annual Grace College & Village at Winona Festival of Music continues this summer with several free concerts. The first will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, during the Village Art Fair. The concert will feature chamber music from the Wally Brath Jazz Trio and Lake Area Community Band. Musicians will perform in the Village Gazebo located between Canal Street and Park Avenue in the Village at Winona.
The Wally Brath Jazz Trio includes Grace College Director of Performing Arts Wally Brath on piano, Brad Kuhns on bass, and Jack Kinney on drums. “We will play a variety of jazz favorites from Irving Berlin and Cole Porter, to John Coltrane and the Beatles,” Brath said. “The Lake Area Community Band will entertain with an assortment of music from traditional concert pieces to classic marches.”
The free concert is part of the 18th annual Village Art Fair. The Art Fair includes more than 75 jury-selected art vendors in 13 categories of art. Food vendors and kids’ activities, along with live music, will ensure the whole family finds something of interest.
The 2018 Festival of Music is sponsored by Grace College and The Village at Winona. For more information on all festival concerts, visit www.grace.edu/musicfestival or contact festival coordinator Wally Brath at [email protected].
