Pursuit Enters Two Counties Ends With Two Arrested
KOSCIUSKO — An early morning pursuit on June 2, crossed into two counties and ultimately ended with two safely arrested.
Trooper Jon Price was patrolling westbound on CR 900N around 12:28 a.m. in Kosciusko County. As Price was approaching SR 13, a maroon Mitsubishi turned onto CR 900N. The Mitsubishi crossed the center line and almost struck Price’s fully marked police car.
Price turned around and caught up to the Mitsubishi as it entered a driveway in the 7000 block of CR 900N. Price turned on his emergency lights as the Mitsubishi continued up the driveway, failing to stop. The Mitsubishi drove through the yard to get away from Price. While doing this the driver purportedly threw something out of the driver side window which was later located and contained suspected methamphetamine.
The Mitsubishi continued to flee from Price driving eastbound on CR 900N. The pursuit continued across county roads around the south side of Lake Wawasee and entered Noble County. The pursuit ended near the intersection of Long Lake Road and CR 300N after the Mitsubishi crashed into a wooden fence.
The driver, identified as Timothy Criswell, 36, Wolcottville, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, reckless driving and operating hhile Intoxicated. Criswell was also arrested for three outstanding warrants out of LaGrange County and two warrants out of Noble County. Criswell was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.
The passenger, identified as Brandi Sowers, 20, Elkhart, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Goshen Police Department. Sowers was transported to the Noble County Jail.
Price was assisted by Trooper Richard Williams, Trooper Braden Wentworth, Syracuse Police Department, Cromwell Police Department and Albion Police Department.
