Mentone Board Sets Budget Workshop Meeting
MENTONE — The Mentone Town Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. June 11 to begin hashing out the budget for the town’s next fiscal year. Town Clerk-Treasurer Barbara Ross mentioned the need for the board members, as well as department heads to begin the process during the board’s monthly meeting Monday, June 4.
“We need to set a budget workshop meeting,” Ross told the board. “The sooner the better. We’re short about six weeks this year on getting things done because of new legislation.”
In other news, Joshua Shepherd, the town’s water superintendent, told the board that sidewalk work in the town was continuing and that work was still being done on installing cameras at various locations in the town.
Board President Jill Gross told the board the town’s recent Egg Festival was a success and gave kudos to those who helped. “I just want to thank everyone who helped during Mentone Days. Josh, you and your crew did a good job helping out,” Gross said.
Board member Shelly Krueger told the board the town’s farmer’s market has been operating successfully in recent weeks.
