Panthers, Pilgrims Lead All-NLC Baseball Tally
GOSHEN – The end of the regional round of the IHSAA baseball state tournament saw the close of the Northern Lakes Conference’s involvement, and thus, the formal announcement of the 2018 All-NLC baseball lists.
NorthWood and Plymouth both wrapped up the season 11-3 in NLC play, winning on the final day to split the team title. Pilgrim head coach Ryan Wolfe was named the NLC Coach of the Year, and had Cam Dennie, Jackson Lee, Benji Nixon and Noah Pesak all named All-NLC while Cole Filson and Jesus Luva were named Honorable Mention All-NLC. For NorthWood, Matt Dutkowski, Alex Holcomb, Brant Mast and Brock Miller were named All-NLC and Payton Bear and Kyler Hauptli were named Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Goshen was 10-4 in third place, boasting of All-NLC players Austin Cain, Joey Peebles and Robby Riegsecker and Honorable Mention Austin Bontrager.
Northridge was 7-7 in fourth, the trio of Cody Bible, Cam Knepp and Nick Logan named All-NLC and Nick Hooley as Honorable Mention.
Wawasee and Elkhart Memorial were both 5-9 in the NLC. The Warriors had Jeremiah Bess as All-NLC and Jairus Boyer as Honorable Mention. The Chargers had Nolan Grose and Jordan Siddons as All-NLC and Landon Lee as Honorable Mention.
Concord finished 4-10 and had Jack Lietzan as All-NLC and Carson Kronemyer as Honorable Mention.
Warsaw ended up 3-11 and had Jared Hawley and Michael Nunez as All-NLC and Liam Patton as Honorable Mention.
