CLAYPOOL — One of the drivers involved in the head-on collision that occurred on June 7, near Claypool has died. Ella Taylor, 59, Warsaw, was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne after the accident and died from injuries on Monday, June 11. 

The two-vehicle accident occurred on SR 15 at CR 550S. Taylor was driving a north bound 2013 silver Toyota which was traveling into the south bound lane, causing a head-on collision. The south bound vehicle was a 2018 Red Freightliner with a tanker trailer.

The operator of the 2018 Freightliner was not injured in the collision and signed off at the scene for medical attention. The operator of the Freightliner was identified as Markus Dean, 47, Lake Village.

The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Claypool Fire Department, Warsaw Fire Department,  Lutheran E.M.S., Lutheran Air Ambulance, the Winona Lake Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
