Kosciusko County Community Fair Releases Another Statement On Pending Case
KOSCIUSKO — The Kosciusko County Community Fair has released the following statement regarding the pending legal case involving motorized racing.
“On May 2, 2018, a Verified Complaint for Temporary Restraining Order, Preliminary Injunctive Relief and Permanent Injunctive Relief was filed against Kosciusko County Community Fair, Inc. The claims in the Complaint surround community activities that take place at the fairgrounds and how they affect certain citizens. Since the Complaint was filed, the Plaintiffs provided a public statement to local press about the lawsuit and issues surrounding the lawsuit. Additionally, Mayor Joseph Thallemer provided multiple statements to the local press discussing issues surrounding the Complaint and making comments regarding the content of various legal documents filed in response to the Complaint by the Defendant, Kosciusko County Community Fair, Inc.”
“The Fair Board is very reluctant to make statements to the press and would prefer to address the Complaint that has been filed against it in Court, rather than through the media. However, the Fair Board does feel compelled to at least address the statements made by Mayor Joseph Thallemer, and adamantly denies the claims made by the mayor that he has been cooperative or has been attempting to resolve this matter in a fair way.”
“Due to our pending Motion for Change of Venue from the County, the Fair Board will refrain from further comment at this time.”
