Parkview Warsaw Offering Stress Reduction And Healing Through Art Workshop
WARSAW — Today’s modern world doles out a stream of demands, expectations and distractions. Constantly being “plugged-in” to phones, tablets, laptops and televisions leaves little time for real relaxation, self-awareness and reflection. Parkview Health Healing Artist, Kathy Curtis, is familiar with the stress that comes with modern life and has spent years helping people slow down and reap the benefits of producing art.
The Parkview Warsaw Center for Healthy Living is pleased to host Curtis for a Mindfulness and Coloring workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26. The workshop features a guided meditation on a particular word of the month; one that will hold a different meaning for each individual. Participants will be given the opportunity color the word in a peaceful, relaxed environment that encourages reflection and self-care.
“The Mindfulness and Coloring Workshops are the result of years of producing art at the bedsides of hospital patients,” said Curtis. “It’s amazing how powerful and therapeutic something as simple as coloring one word can be. I’ve been part of wonderful conversations of patients who have shared their personal journeys with me through these exercises, and it’s been an honor to help others find peace and healing through the process.”
The cost of the workshop is $10 and seating is limited. Please call (260) 266-6500 or toll-free (844) 835-0003 to reserve your spot. Supplies will be furnished. Parkview Warsaw Center for Healthy Living is located inside the Parkview Warsaw YMCA located at 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw.
