Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
11:07 p.m. Thursday, June 28, South SR 15, near West CR 550S, Warsaw. Driver: Jacob R. Peattie, 29, West Section Street, Claypool. Peattie was traveling south on South SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
9:52 p.m. Thursday, June 28, South Packerton Road, north of East CR 1200S, North Manchester. Driver: Steven Metzger, 57, West Lawson Road, Marion. Metzger was traveling north on South Packerton Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:54 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 1011 East Arthur St., Warsaw. Driver: Jonathan C. Stone, 20, North CR 100E, Warsaw. As Stone pulled into a parking spot, his foot slipped off the brake, causing his vehicle to strike a fence post. Damage up to $1,000.
4:48 p.m. Thursday, June 28, North Parker Street, north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Chans M. Cochran, 25, East CR 200N 16, Warsaw; and Kody D. Popenfoose, 24, South Hill Drive, Silver Lake. Cochran pulled out of a parking lot and turned left onto North Parker Street and didn’t see Popenfoose’s vehicle traveling south on North Parker Street. Damage up to $5,000.
4:09 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 3390 Old Colony Road, Warsaw. Driver: Jessica M. Carlson, 24, Oak Brook Plaza, Warsaw. Carlson was traveling east on Old Colony Road when she lost consciousness, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. Carlson’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a mobile home. The vehicle became trapped under the home. Carlson and two passengers in the vehicle were treated on scene and taken to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne. Carlson sustained minor bleeding to her elbow and lower arm. Passenger Raevonn Williams, 22, Warsaw, sustained minor bleeding to his elbow and lower arm. Passenger Chloe Carlson, 2, Warsaw, sustained severe bleeding to her head. Damage up to $50,000.
12:03 p.m. Thursday, June 28, Holiday Road, near East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Derek M. Custer, 37, County Road 50, Syracuse; and Brandon L. Creighton, 47, Oriole Drive, Warsaw. Custer was turning onto Holiday Drive when he backed his vehicle into Creighton’s. Damage up to $2,500.
11:28 a.m. Thursday, June 28, West Market Street, near South Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Brian M. Lattimer, 56, County Road 3, Elkhart; and Robert L. Salsgiver, 62, South CR 350E, Warsaw. Lattimer was traveling south on Lake Street when the Market Street intersection had a green light for his way of travel. As he entered the intersection, Salsgiver’s vehicle struck him. Damage up to $25,000.
9:41 a.m. Thursday, June 28, North Lake Street, north of Pike Street, Warsaw. Driver: Megan E. Beery, 32, North Elder Road, Larwill. Beery was traveling north on Lake Street when she fell asleep and struck a NIPSCO utility pole. She had taken a prescription medicine that can cause drowsiness. Beery was not injured and no other vehicles were involved. Damage up to $10,000.
7:57 a.m. Thursday, June 28, CR 150W, near Executive Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Akshay-Bharat Chikhale, 26, Cass Avenue Apartment 1130, Detroit, Mich.; and Dana M. Lantz, 27, West Leigh Drive, Warsaw. Lantz was stopped on CR 150W in order to turn left. Chikhale was traveling behind Lantz’s vehicle, failing to stop and rear-ending Lantz’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
11:33 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, South SR 15, near East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jon A. Johnson, 39, South CR 588W, Huntington; and Stephen S. Kline, 56, South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Johnson was traveling south on SR 15 when he approached an intersection to turn left toward the railroad construction site. As he turned left, his vehicle struck the left rear of Kline’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
