An RV was completely destroyed in a fire this afternoon, July 11.

PIERCETON — At around 4 p.m. today, July 11, Pierceton Fire Department responded to an RV fire at the 5000 block of East Pierceton Road, Pierceton. Shortly after arriving on scene, a full assist from the Winona Lake Fire Department was requested.

The RV was completely destroyed in an active fire. Firefighters on scene stated the flames rose several feet into the air. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly, before the fire reached any of the several surrounding buildings.

No one was inside the RV at the time of the fire and witnesses stated that the RV was not hooked up to any electricity.

No further information is available at this time.

Firefighters quickly gained control of the fire before it spread to surrounding structures.
