Wetland Adventures, Fun For Kids In July
SYRACUSE — Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation’s Wetland Adventures began this morning Wednesday, July 11, at the Ruddell Pavilion on WACF’s Levinson-LaBrosse Educational Center property, SR 13, Syracuse.
The adventure will continue from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18 and 25.
Wetland Adventures is for elementary age children. Adults need to accompany the children. Activities will include topics related to “Life in a Freshwater Lake.” There will be experiments, crafts and a canoe scavenger hunt.
There will be different activities each week. New this year will be a Safety Day where kids will learn to fit a life jacket, throw a safety line to someone struggling in the water and how to stay safe in a storm. Specifics on the activities for any particular Wednesday will be on WAACF’s Facebook page the day before so “like” them on Facebook.
Wetland Adventures is another free WACF education event and everyone is welcome. No registration is required but bring a life jacket for each child.
