Attack Reach Tourney Semi-finals
WARSAW – The CCAC Attack 10U team is one step closer to a championship after a big win at the BPA World Series Friday afternoon.
The Attack took advantage of some shaky pitching from the Indiana Landsharks Blue team in the first inning to claim a 5-0 lead. With the wind blowing out, the ball flew around the yard, but the Attack kept the pressure on and pulled out an 11-8 victory in the quarterfinals of the baseball tournament at the team’s home park.
Facing the Attack in the semi-finals will be the Battle Creek Shamrocks, which defeated the Huntington Heat 5-1. The two teams will meet at 8 a.m. Sunday, the winner in the catbird’s seat still undefeated in the double-elimination tournament.
The Attack 13U found its BPA World Series come to an end with a 9-3 loss to the Velocity Bandits from Marshall, Michigan. The Attack escaped a pair of pickles early on, working out of jams, but couldn’t get its offense going while the Bandits got its bats going late to pull away and eliminate the Attack. The Bandits will meet the Southlake Sabotage on Saturday.
The Indiana Chargers 11U club saw its tournament come to an end after a tough 9-4 loss to the LaPorte Crush. The Chargers, based out of Goshen, got behind early and weren’t able to ramp up its offense. The Crush also hustled out a 7-3 win over the Mishawaka Mayhem before the rains came.
