Time For School Board Candidate Filing
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Candidates have began filing for school board seats. Candidate filing opened Wednesday, July 25, and will end at noon Friday, Aug. 24.
Tippecanoe Valley, Triton, Wa-Nee, Wawasee, Warsaw and Whitko school corporations all have seats up for election in the general primary Nov. 6.
Thus far only one candidate for Wawasee and three candidates for Warsaw school corporations have filed. Rebecca L. (Becky) Linnemeier, incumbent, has filed for District 3 in the Wawasee Community School Corp. Heather Reichenbach, Jeremy Mullins, both incumbents and Bradly Johnson, have filed for Districts 2, 5 and 7 respectively for Warsaw Community Schools.
Seats Up For Grabs
Candidates filing for any of the school district seats must reside in the district he/she is filing.
There are three district seats, District 3 — Franklin Township (Kosciusko County), District 4 — Henry Township (Fulton County) and District 5 — New Castle Township (Fulton County), up for grabs at Tippecanoe Valley School Corp..
Triton School Corp., will also have three seats up for election: District 1 — Tippecanoe Township (Marshall County), District 2 — Etna Township (Kosciusko County) and District 4 — Town of Bourbon (Marshall County).
Candidate filings for the three seats up for election in Wa-Nee Community Schools are in township districts in Elkhart County.
Wawasee Community School Corp. will have its three district seats up for election — District 1 – Tippecanoe Township; District 2 — Turkey Creek Township and District 3 — Van Buren and east Jefferson townships.
Warsaw Community Schools will have four seats available: District 1, District 2, District 5 and District 7.
Whitko Community School Corp., has seats open in District 4 — Jackson, Monroe and Washington townships (Kosciusko County) and District 5 — Richard and Cleveland townships (Whitley County).
