Claypool Man Arrested For Possession Of Meth
WARSAW — A Claypool man was arrested after officers discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
Joshua Brandon Volkert, 33, 4617 S. SR 15, Claypool, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On July 15, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Volkert. The officer found that Volkert’s driver’s license was suspended and that there was an active warrant for his arrest.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, after arresting Volkert, the officer conducted an inventory search of Volkert’s vehicle and discovered a clear glass smoking device that contained a white residue. The residue tested positive for methamphetamine.
The officer also found a multicolored glass smoking device that smelled of marijuana.
Volkert has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing date at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in Kosciusko Circuit Court.
