Warsaw Woman Arrested For Possession, Resisting
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested after police say an altercation led them to discover methamphetamine. While she was arrested, the woman resisted officers and attempted to push an officer down a set of stairs.
Lisa Frances Keough, 49, 123 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 1, officers with the Warsaw Police Department were dispatched to Fort Wayne Street in regards to an altercation. A female stated that she received a text message from her daughter that led her to believe her daughter was using methamphetamine provided by Keough. The female confronted her daughter and Keough. During the confrontation, Keough obtained a bat and began swinging it at her.
The female asked officers if she could retrieve her lighter from inside the residence. The officer followed Keough inside her residence to retrieve the female’s lighter. While accompanying Keough, the officer observed methamphetamine in her bedroom. The officer then received a search warrant to search the residence.
Inside the residence, officers located glass pipes with smoking residue, a prescription bottle containing methamphetamine and cut plastic straws.
When officers advised Keough she was under arrest, Keough began resisting. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Keough attempted to keep the officers from putting her in handcuffs. Keough refused to walk on her own and officers had to physically move her to get her to the police vehicle. The affidavit further stated that Keough attempted to push an officer down the stairs but was not successful.
Keough was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 1. She was released on her own recognizance and has an initial hearing date scheduled for Oct. 4.
