Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:38 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, North CR 650E, south of East CR 150N, Pierceton. Driver: Kenneth R. Ashton, 61, North CR 925E, North Webster. Ashton told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on CR 650E when a deer entered the roadway. He was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $2,500.
2:41 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, West CR 300S, east of South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Police said a vehicle was being driven westbound on CR 300S and left the south side of the roadway. Police said the driver of the vehicle was gone prior to the arrival of police. The vehicle was registered to Deborah J. Silor, South CR 300E, Warsaw. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, East Main Street and North Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Seth R. Adams, 30, South Jefferson Street, Silver Lake; Rocky M. Riley, 50, North CR 200W, Huntington. Adams told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on North Indiana Street and said he did not see the vehicle driven by Riley traveling eastbound on East Main Street. He said he entered the intersection and collided with Riley’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
4:27 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Tyler L. Schmucker, 32, North CR 800W, Etna Green; Allison L. Redding, 40, Pink Magnolia Drive, Winona Lake. Schmucker told police he was in the Steak and Shake drive through and was looking at his phone while his vehicle was creeping forward in the line, causing him to strike Redding’s vehicle from behind. Damage up to $2,500.
1:28 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, Frontage Road, east of Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Oliverio V. Rodriguez, Inverness Point, Warsaw. Andrew A. Grammar, Lake City Highway, Warsaw told police Rodriguez was driving his vehicle on Frontage Road and struck him while he was riding his bicycle. Police reported finding no damage to either Rodriguez’s vehicle or Grammer’s bicycle to support Grammer’s claim. A passenger in Rodriguez’s vehicle told police that Grammar stopped in front of them, placed his left leg on the ground, held his hands out in a stopping motion and started to yell at them for almost hitting him. She said he then got off his bike, threw the bike to the ground and laid on the ground, claiming to be struck by Rodriguez’s vehicle. Damage less than $750.
1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: Jestina L. Schultz, 45, East CR 500 S., Warsaw. Schultz told police she was driving in the Meijer parking lot and pulled into a parking space, inadvertently striking a parked vehicle with her vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
