Triton Tennis Suffers Second Loss To Knox
BOURBON — Triton tennis lost its second match to Hoosier North Athletic Conference foe Knox in as many weeks, 4-1, at home Wednesday.
The Trojans’ only win came at 1 doubles, where Carter Kuntz and Chase Butler posted a convincing 6-0, 6-0 win over Ricky Clark and Devan Himes. Tyler Heckaman and Grant Eib took a total of seven games from Ethan Sanders and Brock Taulbee at 2 doubs but fell 6-3, 6-4.
Connor Large pushed 3 singles opponent Zac Eby to 12 games in each set but came up just short in a 7-5, 7-5 loss after losing 0-0 to Eby in their first meeting last week. John Gardner fell 6-2, 6-1 to Eian Coad at 1 singles, while Trevor Miller lost 0 and 0 to Jake Krueger at 2 singles.
Triton drops to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the HNAC.
Also Wednesday, Triton’s JV fell 3-1 to Knox.
The Trojans resume conference play at LaVille next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
