Candidacy Filing Complete, Races Set For November
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — The deadline for candidates wishing to seek a seat on their respective school board ended at noon today, Friday, Aug. 24. The final week saw nine individuals filing candidacies for school boards throughout the county.
The final result is there will be races for district seats at TIppecanoe Valley, Triton, Warsaw, Whitko and Wawasee. Registered voters in the Wa-Nee Community Schools will not see any races.
Here’s how the ballot will look in November.
Registered voters in Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. will have races for the District 4 and District 5 seats. Thomas J. Bauters will go against Kristopher Fear for the District 4 seat and Craig A. Durkes will go against Todd L. Hoffman for the District 5 seat. Lacy Wise will be unopposed for the District 3 seat.
Teresa Barnhart and Kenneth Miller will be unopposed in their bid for the District 1 and District 4 seats respectively. Voters will be choosing between Steven D. Stichter and Andrew L. Cook for the District 2 seat.
Registered voters in Warsaw Community Schools District 1 will have to choose between three candidates: Wendy Fairchild, Keith E. Manuel and Michael Coon. The candidates for District 2, 5 and 7 are unopposed. Those candidates are Heather Reichenbach, District 2; Jeremy Mullins, District 5; and Bradly Johnson, District 7.
Voters in the Wawasee Community School Corp. will be choosing between Mary Lou Dixon, Steven Baut and William Cripe for the District 2 seat. Rob Fisher, District 1 and Rebecca Linnemeier, District 3 are unopposed.
Whitko Community School Corp., voters will have a race in each of the two district seats up for election. The District 4 seat will be between Richard Jason Thomas and Bill Patrick. The District 5 seat will be between Scott Werstler, Annette J. Arnold, Dale Anthony Starkey and Jorell T. Tucker.
Unopposed candidates for Wa-Nee Community Schools are Terry Graber, Harrison Township; Curt Flickenger, Locke Township; and Louis Bonacorsi, Union Township.
