Man Vomiting In Public Leads To His Drug Arrest
WARSAW — When police arrived at a Warsaw business to investigate a complaint of a man outside vomiting, they reported discovering drugs.
Ryan Eric Douglas, 31, 1520 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, is charged with possession of a narcotic, a level 6 felony.
According to police, officers were called to Ranger Materials on Argonne Road in Warsaw on Aug. 12 to investigate an unknown subject outside the business. According to the affidavit of probable cause, police approached a man identified as Douglas who was wearing red shorts as described by staff members inside the business and who was vomiting outside the building.
Police said they were told by Douglas that he had an outstanding warrant for criminal conversion and told officers when asked that he had used heroin the previous night. Police say Douglas gave them permission to search his belongings that were lying on the ground near him.
Officers reported finding a clear plastic bag containing a white powder, which field tested positive as heroin. Douglas was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail and is scheduled to appear in the Kosciusko County Circuit Court at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30.
