John Mark McMillan To Perform At Grace College Sept. 8
WINONA LAKE — Christian artist John Mark McMillan will perform on the Grace College campus at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the corner of King’s Highway and Wooster Road.
Part of the Grace College and Village at Winona Festival of Music, the free, outdoor concert will take place during Grace’s annual “Sib’s Weekend” as students enjoy a weekend with their siblings.
John Mark McMillian stylistically borrows from ’80s rock and ’90s R&B, but his lyrics use metaphor to draw the listener into the conversation. He does not create traditional worship music, but music that deals with hard questions and doubts in an honest manner.
“John Mark McMillan’s authenticity as a worship leader and songwriter drew me to his music,” said Dr. Wally Brath, 2018 Festival of Music coordinator and Grace College director of worship arts. “I want the audience to hear his heart for God, and for him to challenge how we think about navigating our current culture.”
The Sept. 8 concert is open to the public. It will mark the final outdoor concert of the 2018 Grace College and Village at Winona Festival of Music. Holiday concert details will be announced at a future date. For more information about the Festival of Music, visit www.grace.edu/musicfestival.
