Warsaw Tops, Wawasee Splits NLC Three-Way
WARSAW — Warsaw’s girls golf team closed out its Northern Lakes Conference round robin season with a pair of wins over Wawasee and Elkhart Memorial at Stonehenge Thursday.
The Lady Tigers posted a 177, while Wawasee carded a 196 ahead of Memorial’s 232 to split the meet.
Izzy Ray earned co-medalist honors for Warsaw with a 42. Madelyn Ray shot 44, Julia Hildebrand shot 45, and Grayson Kilburn and Marie Frazzetta both shot 46 for the Tigers, who finished NLC round robin play at 4-3.
Leading Wawasee was Valerie Haessig with a 48, while Lesley Tayagua and Belle Brunner turned in a pair of 49s, and Taylor Cripe shot 50. Jadison Rostochak posted a 57 on a tough night for the team’s fifth score. The Warriors finish the NLC round robin at 3-4.
Warsaw’s junior varsity also earned wins over both teams, posting a team score of 194 ahead of Wawasee’s 225, finishing 6-1 in the conference.
Anna Morgan shot a personal best 44 to pace the JV Tigers, while Miriam Hagg and Delaney Byron both shot 48, and Sydney Lancaster carded 54.
Wawasee’s JV scores were unavailable.
Warasw travels to Battleground Golf Course this Saturday for the Lafayette Jefferson Invitational beginning at 1 p.m.
Wawasee plays at the Culver Girls Academy Invitational at Swan Lake Saturday at 1 p.m.
