Ribbon Cutting Ceremony And Open House Held At Groups Recover Together
WARSAW — A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house were held today, Wednesday, Sept. 5, for Groups Recover Together, located at 2194 North Pointe Drive, Warsaw.
Groups Recover Together is an outpatient treatment program that focuses on group therapy and medication assistance to treat opiate addiction. They focus on evidence-based practice, using the best parts of AA, community and accountability, and combine them with the latest medical science and technology.
According to information provided in brochures at their office, “Groups provides affordable and effective treatment for opioid addiction. Through weekly group therapy with licensed counselors and Suboxone medication prescribed by physicians, we empower clients to regain control of their lives.”
“We focus on opiate abuse issues. Many of our members have other substance issues as well,” said Ann Hasse, substance abuse counselor. “One of the treatments we incorporate, if appropriate, is medication-assisted treatment.”
“This office prescribes medication – we don’t keep any medicine in-house,” Hasse explained. “Our members have to choose a home pharmacy that we can regularly communicate with for some accountability.”
According to Hasse, there is a $65 a week flat fee which includes everything done in the building, including the initial intake session, group therapy and seeing doctors at Groups.
Groups Recover Together opened its first office in 2014 in New Hampshire after one of the founders, Jeff DeFlavio, MD, noticed that although the greatest need for treatment is in rural communities, those areas have the least access to treatment.
Warsaw is the first office in Northern Indiana. Groups Recover Together facilities are located in seven states, with the most offices in Indiana. Their soft opening in Warsaw took place on July 24. The Warsaw office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
