Two Warsaw Men Face Drug Charges After Traffic Stop
WARSAW — Two Warsaw men are facing charges after the vehicle they were in was pulled over, leading to the discovery of drugs.
Blake Edward Johnson, 22, 8982 West CR 225N, Etna Green, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony. Killian Chase Hilliard, 22, 1382 W. Dogwood St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 27, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department observed a gray Dodge drive left of the center at Fort Wayne and Buffalo streets as well as make an improper turn at Lake Street in Warsaw.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver of the vehicle as Johnson. Hilliard was a passenger in the front seat. Another male passenger was riding in the back seat. While speaking with the men, the officer could smell the odor of marijuana. Hilliard admitted to having marijuana in his pocket. The officer searched Hilliard and found a plastic bag containing a green plant material that was identified as marijuana. The marijuana weighed 4 grams.
Upon searching the vehicle, the officer located a plastic bag between the center console and the front passenger seat. The bag contained a crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Both Hilliard and Johnson were booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Aug. 27, on $5,250 surety and cash bonds.
