Bremen Man Killed In Saturday Motorcycle Crash
PIERCETON — Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a motor vehicle traffic crash on SR 13 near CR 200N in Kosciusko County that killed a Bremen man on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 8.
James R. Ernsberger, 52, of Bremen, sustained multiple head and neck injuries from the single-vehicle crash.
Kosciusko County sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel responded at approximately 1:22 p.m. to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash on SR 13 near CR 200N. The crash involved a northbound motorcycle traveling in a group of motorcycles. Police reported that Ernsberger was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle when for an unknown reason, laid down the motorcycle in the roadway without making contact with the other vehicles. Ernsberger was ejected from the motorcycle, and was found to be unresponsive by witnesses. He was then airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.
Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Pierceton Fire Department, North Webster Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
