Battig Hired As Executive Director At Camp Crosley
MUNCIE — Mark Battig has been hired as the new executive director of Camp Crosley YMCA, 165 EMS T2 Lane, North Webster. Battig succeeds long time executive, Richard Armstrong, whom he worked with for several years before moving to Tampa, Fla.
Battig has a long history in camping, serving YMCAs in Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida and Indiana. While in Florida, Battig served as the executive director of Camp Cristina and director of camping services overseeing multiple programs, staff and campers in the Tampa area. He spent three years developing staff, creating innovative programs and changing the lives of thousands of campers.
YMCA of Muncie CEO, Chad Zaucha, stated, “We are extremely excited to welcome Mark and his family back home at Camp Crosley. Mark is an ‘A’ player and possesses the skill and will necessary to carry the torch and rich history of our youth development work at Camp Crosley forward. We are eager to work alongside him to expand the depth and breadth of the Y’s impact.”
Battig enjoys fly fishing, photography, sports, camping/hiking in the great outdoors but most of all he enjoys spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife, Celeste, for 16 years. They have three daughters, Areina, Sun-Ae and Ellieora. Mark and his family are looking forward to returning to Camp Crosley and calling it home.
