Bourbon Man Arrested For Home Improvement Fraud
KOSCIUSKO — A Bourbon man was arrested after he received payment for yard work from a local couple but never completed the work.
Eugene R. Gregory, 50, 120 N. Main St. Bourbon, is being charged with home improvement fraud, a level 6 felony.
On Aug. 22, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department met with a local homeowner. The homeowner advised that on July 5, 2017, he and his wife entered into a written agreement with Gregory, doing business as Creative Gardens Landscaping. The agreement was for Gregory to provide stonework and weed barrier for $6,000.
The homeowner advised he wrote a check to Gregory for $3,000 with the remainder to be paid once the work is completed. Gregory cashed the check on July 7, 2017.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, as of Sept. 11, Gregory had not completed the work or returned the $3,000.
Gregory was arrested on Sept. 13, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
