Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
2:56 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, East Center Street and North Main Street, Sidney. Driver: Roberto A. Ramos, 56, Cedar Street, Elkhart. Ramos advised he was northbound on Main Street when the trailer he was pulling came unhitched and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, SR 13 and Old Road 30, Pierceton. Drivers: Kenneth D. Zorger, 72, EMS B48A Lane, Warsaw; and Nathyn L. Jones, 21, South CR 600E, North Manchester. Zorger advised he was westbound on Old Road 30 approaching the intersection. He stated he remembered the light being red and thought he stopped but did not recall much after that. Jones stated he was southbound on SR 13 and as he entered the intersection, Zorger’s vehicle appeared in front of him and he was unable to avoid striking it. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:21 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, SR 25 and South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Donavon L. Plank, 65, West CR 950S, Silver Lake; and Jose D. Rosa, 38, Bluebird Drive, Warsaw. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Rosa was cited for not having a valid driver’s license. Damage up to $5,000.
4:06 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, SR 15, south of Ranch Road, Warsaw. Driver: Rose A. Pletcher, 15, Birch Road, Bourbon. Pletcher, a student driver, was in a vehicle with a licensed instructor. While stopped in traffic, the vehicle Pletcher was driving was rear-ended. The driving instructor exited the vehicle and spoke with the driver of the other vehicle, advising the driver he would be contacting police to file a report. While the instructor was on the phone with police, the driver of the other vehicle drove off, leaving the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:40 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, Kings Highway, west of First Street, Winona Lake. Drivers: Thelma J. Potter, 73, South Village Street, Pierceton; and Coyle D. Kreft, 23, 17B Road, Tippecanoe. Potter advised she did not see Kreft’s vehicle and pulled out in front of him. Damage up to $5,000.
