Pierceton Man Arrested For Threatening Officers, Swinging Around Hatchet
PIERCETON — A Pierceton man was arrested after threatening police officers and swinging a hatchet around in an officer’s presence.
Terry Michael Hall, 49, 6756 E. Old Road 30, Pierceton, is being charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony.
On Oct. 3, an officer with the Pierceton Police Department noticed a vehicle with one working brake light drive off the roadway. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Hall, who seemed confused and irritated.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Hall would not obey orders and continued to resist the officer. Hall began aggressively lunging at the officer in a threatening manner and said, “You come at me b****, it will be the last time, your last time.” An unnamed male minor in Hall’s vehicle refused to obey commands and stood between Hall and the officer.
Hall then threatened to shoot the officer. Other officers arrived on the scene, handcuffed the minor and removed him from the situation. The minor began fighting with and resisting officers. Hall then picked up a hatchet, swinging it around. Officers used a Taser to subdue and arrest Hall.
While searching Hall, officers found a metal tube, two pills identified as oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic drug, and a plastic bag that contained a powdery substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Hall was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 4, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
