Nappanee Library Announces Week’s Events
The following activities are scheduled for the week at Nappanee Public Library.
Family Make And Take — Oct. 15-21 (all ages)
Patrons can stop by the cube and make a Mason Jar candle holder. Instructions and supplies will be available while supplies last and the activity is limited to two jars per person. No registration is necessary.
Recipe Swap — Oct. 15, 7 to 8 p.m. (adults)
Patrons can exchange favorite recipes and collect some new favorites. Each month has a theme. In October, participants can bring a dish made from a Taste of Home Cookbook, or try other dishes and return home with a stack of new recipes. No registration necessary.
Cover To Cover Book Club — Oct. 16, 6:30 to 8 p.m. (adults)
While participating in this club, titles will alternate between fiction and non-fiction. In October, participants will read “Everything I Never Told You” by Celeste Ng. The Button Keepers — Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to noon (adults)
The Button Keepers is a fun, new program about antique, vintage, and modern buttons, with a focus on art and history. Participants can share collectibles and admire the buttons of other members. Clothing buttons only. No registration necessary.
Lego Club — Oct. 18, 4 to 5 p.m. (kids and tweens)
Patrons can join the library after school and enjoy different building challenges and win prizes. Meetings end with free building time. Snacks will be available. No registration necessary.
Hook And Wool — Oct. 18, 6 to 7:30 p.m. (tweens and adults)
Crochet enthusiasts can join others who love the craft, while getting help with a project or refining their skills. This is a casual group for all skill levels. No registration necessary.
The Young And Restless — Oct. 19, 10 to 10:30 a.m. (infants and toddlers)
This program includes a story time created for babies, toddlers, and caregivers. There will be bubbles, dancing, music, and stories. Parents or caregivers can bring a blanket or play mat. Register by calling (574) 773-7919 or visit nappaneelibrary.org.
Scan-A-Thon — Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (adults)
The public is encouraged to bring interesting Nappanee-related photographs to the Nappanee Center. The Heritage Collection staff will take those hidden gems from the attic to the web by scanning, cataloging and sharing historic photographs of all eras. No registration necessary.
Entrepreneurs, Pioneers And Trailblazers: Walking Tour — Sept. 20, 7 to 8 p.m. (adults)
Participants can learn about the businesses that blazed the trail in Nappanee and the ones that are still around today. This walking tour is made possible through a Historic Preservation Education grant from Indiana Landmarks, Indiana Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
