Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

6:37 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, West SR 25, west of South CR 700W, Burket. Drivers: Taylor N. Long, 21, North Cheyenne Drive, Warsaw; Carrissa E. Ruby, 21, West CR 1400N, North Manchester. Long told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on SR 25 and reached over to pick up a banana when her vehicle collided with Ruby’s vehicle, which had stopped. Damage up to $25,000.

9:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, South Packerton Road, south of East CR 700S, Claypool. Driver: Philip W. Barkey, 71, South Freedom Parkway, Winona Lake. Barkey told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on Packerton Road when a deer entered the roadway. He said he was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.

2:37 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, West CR 1350N and North CR 850W, Nappanee. Drivers: Isaac M. Miller, 19, West Price Road, Milford; Karol D. Beachy, 62, North CR 900W, Nappanee. Beachy told police she was in her vehicle stopped and facing west when her vehicle was struck by Miller’s vehicle. Miller told police he was possibly looking at his phone or looking in another direction. Damage up to $10,000.
