Valley Trio Lands On TRC VB List
DENVER – Tippecanoe Valley had three players make the list among the volleyball standouts in the Three Rivers Conference this season.
Sophie Bussard and Shayleigh Shriver were both named First Team All-TRC for their performances during the season. Bussard graduates as the only player in Valley history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career and Shriver leaves as the all-time leader in aces and points.
Honorable Mention All-TRC went to Viking junior Makenzie Woodcox. Valley finished in a three-way tie for fourth in the conference, wrapping up 5-4 with both Southwood and Rochester.
Wabash ended 9-0 in the conference and made the deepest run of any team in the state tournament, making semi-state before losing to North Judson in the Class 2-A bracket last weekend. The Apaches had Brooke Irgang, Sam Irgang, Tabby Wagner and Kenzie Hayslett all make First Team and Myria Wyatt as Honorable Mention.
Maconaquah was 8-1 and had Emily Bowyer and Alice Miller on the First Team and Averi Miller as Honorable Mention. Northfield was third at 7-2 and had Addison Baker and Kyra Kennedy as First Team and Kelcie Thomson as Honorable Mention.
Rochester had Alivia Riegle and Christian Towne on the First Team and Molly Conley as Honorable Mention while Southwood had Alissa Pershing as First Team and Erin Lehner as Honorable Mention.
Rounding out the First Team choices was Emma West of Manchester (3-6), which the Squires also had Eva Bazzoni as Honorable Mention.
Honorable Mention nods also went to Courtlyn Crowe of Peru (2-7), Maryann Freeman of North Miami (1-8), and Carissa Beck of Whitko (0-9).
