North Webster Community Public Library Announces Upcoming Events
NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster Community Public Library will host the following events in November:
If you like to knit or crochet or want to learn how, join the Knit 1 Crochet 2 group that meets at 2:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the library. At the Nov. 6 session, Teresa Zurcher will demonstrate loom knitting. Knit 1 Crochet 2 is an informal time of each person working on their individual projects, sharing ideas and learning from each other. If you’re experienced, bring a project to the library to work on while enjoying the company of others. If learning, bring needles and yarn and get help getting started.
Openings are still available for the National Weather Service Station at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5. The tour starts at the weather station, located on SR 13 north of North Webster. The tour is free, but you must sign up in advance at the library circulation desk or by calling (574) 834-7122. Minors must be accompanied by a parent.
Stop by the Friends of the Library table at Lady Lions Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in the north Webster Community Center. The FOL group will be selling gift soup and cookie mixes along with plates of baked cookies. Proceeds from the FOL sale go to support the work of the North Webster Library.
While Wawasee school kids are enjoying a day off from school Friday, Nov. 9, bring them to play Family Bingo at 1 p.m. Multiple rounds of bingo are played with each round lasting until every child bingos and wins a prize. It is easy to play for children of all ages, and everyone goes home with lots of prizes.
Does your child need practice with their oral reading skills? Sign them up to read to Echo, a certified therapy dog, who visits the library from 4 to 5 p.m. every Tuesday. Echo listens intently and doesn’t care if your child stumbles over a word or makes a mistake. The 15-minute private reading sessions are by appointment only. To secure an appointment, stop by the Youth Services Department or call (574) 834-7122 ext. 202.
Don’t miss out on the many programs and activities at the library. Sign up for the library Text Club and receive notifications on your cellphone. Just text the message “library” to the number 36000 and follow the prompts.
