Police Approach Suspicious Vehicle, Arrest Burket Woman On Drug Charges
WARSAW — Police received a call that a suspicious vehicle was in the area and that questionable subjects were knocking on the door. The caller said the vehicle left the apartment complex and police located the vehicle and approached, only to find a Burket woman in possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
Cora Gail Warstler, 22, 210 South St., Burket, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor. She was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
On Nov. 1, police were called to a Warsaw residence to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle and persons who were reported knocking on the caller’s door repeatedly. By the time officers arrived, the caller said the persons had left in the vehicle. Police said they located the suspect vehicle in the Zimmer Biomet parking lot and when they approached the vehicle, they saw a glass smoking device inside a purse on the floorboard of the driver’s side.
The vehicle’s owner, identified as Warstler, gave officers permission to search the purse. Inside, officers reported finding the smoking device with residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also reported finding a metal tin that contained a plastic bag containing residue. Officers say they also found a bag containing a powder identified as methamphetamine, as well as a cut straw and a scales. Police say Warstler told officers all the items belonged to her.
