Pierceton Woman Arrested For Possession Of Meth
WINONA LAKE — A Pierceton woman was arrested after officers found methamphetamine in her purse.
Sarah Elizabeth Elder, 39, 1363 S. CR 450E, Pierceton, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony.
On Nov. 21, an officer with the Winona Lake Police Department observed a vehicle make an improper lane change on US 30. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Elder. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer used a K-9 unit to conduct an outer air search of the vehicle. The K-9 made a positive alert.
Officers searched the vehicle and did not find any drugs. Elder had an active warrant out for her arrest and was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.
At the jail, officers found a plastic bag containing a crystal substance in Elder’s purse that tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing 1.4 grams.
Elder was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 21, with a $10,750 surety and cash bond.
