King, Miller Inducted Into LCA HOF
WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian Academy recently inducted two alumni into its Athletic Hall of Fame, Keely King and Dan Miller. This was LCA’s ninth induction ceremony.
King, a 2008 graduate, played varsity soccer and varsity basketball for the Lady Cougars from 2004-08. On the soccer field, she was a four-year starter, scoring 51 goals and adding 33 assists in her career. In 2006, she was named to the Northern Indiana Soccer Conference (NISC) Second Team All-Conference list. On the basketball court in 2008, her senior year, she helped lead the Lady Cougars to a Runner-Up finish at the Midwest Regional for Christian Schools and Home Schools in Cincinnati.
King finished her high school basketball career scoring with 1,054 points and was named LCA’s Senior Athlete of the Year. King is currently working for the Bowen Center in Marion as a clinical mental health therapist, assisting those that are suffering with mental health issues and addictions.
Also being inducted was Miller, a 1996 graduate. Like King, Miller played both soccer and basketball. He was a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) State Soccer championship team in 1993 and 1994. He was named to the Northern Indiana Soccer Conference (NISC) All-Conference Second Team in 1995. On the hardwood, Miller was a member of the ACSI State Championship Team in 1995 and 1996, and completed his high school career at LCA with a perfect 23-0 season, capturing the 1996 ACSI Midwest Regional championship.
Miller has coached various levels of soccer and basketball at LCA and also at Warsaw. In 1998, he coached LCA to a runner-up finish at the ACSI State Boys Basketball Tournament. He led the Cougars to a 2006 Indiana Christian School Tournament Series (ICSTS) boys soccer championship and a third place finish at the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) National Soccer Tournament. LCA repeated as ICSTS boys soccer champions the following year, as well as the National Christian School Athletic Association (NCSAA) Tournament in Erie, Penn.
Miller is currently the head boys soccer coach and has compiled 51 wins in three seasons as head soccer coach. Before his stint with LCA, he coached the girls soccer team at Warsaw. Dan and his wife, Lindsey, live in Winona Lake and have three children, Zaiden, Brody and Mariah.
