CONCORD INVITE
Warsaw and Wawasee’s JV both participated at the Concord Invitational Saturday morning.
The JV Warriors had a number of top finishes at the invite in Elliot tinselly, Dominick Blair and Austin LaJoice. Josh Matney, David Miller, Quintin Spitzmacher and Evan Gregory all earned second-place finishes, and Alec Wortinger and Chad Robison were both third in their classes.
The Tigers had four wrestlers come away with placements, but the entire group showed a lot of progress on the mats.
Josh Pelfrey and Wyatt Klinger earned second place in their brackets, while Dominic Albano and Chris McAfoose took fourth place.
WINAMAC INVITE
Triton’s short-handed wrestling lineup went 2-3 at the Winamac Invitational Saturday.
Nate Riggins and Bo Snyder both went 5-0 on the day at 126 and 182, respectively, while Bill Smith was 4-0 at heavyweight, Aaron Stichter finished 4-1 at 220, and Conner Pitney was 3-1 at 138 pounds.
The Trojans travel to Westview next Thursday.
MACONAQUAH INVITE
Tippecanoe Valley competed in the Maconaquah Invitational, finishing 3-2 on the day as a team.
Valley beat North Miami 66-16, Whitko 66-9 and Tipton 40-34 while falling to Lewis Cass 48-36 and Maconaquah 42-41.
Undefeated Viking wrestlers included Drake Montelongo and Johnny Gonsalez, both 5-0 with three pins each, and Dakota Gaff with a win in his only action. One-loss wrestlers included Haley Hoover (2-1), Hunter Eherenman (4-1, three pins), Andrew Burke (0-1), Landon Grossman (0-1), Jon Humes (3-1, two pins) and Joel Ordaz-Cisneros (3-1).
Also recording pins on the day for Valley were Branson McBrier, Luis Castillo, Jacob Eherenman, Brandon Hammer, Tyler Nine and Ian Becker.
