BINGHAMTON, N.Y.  — Two people are in custody as a result of a massive drug bust near Binghamton.

On Friday, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force conducted a narcotics raid at 62 and a half Wheeler Street in Deposit.

During the search, approximately one kilogram of heroin, one kilogram of fentanyl and two kilograms of meth were found along with nearly $24,000 in suspected drug sale proceeds.

30-year-old Johnnah DeGraw and 36-year-old Marlon Graham were arrested and charged following the search.

Johnson City Police Chief Brent Dodge says with two milligrams of fentanyl being considered a lethal dose, they seized an amount equivalent to 500,000 lethal doses.

“That fentanyl, there’s no doubt in my mind would have led to overdose deaths right here in Broome County,” Brent Dodge, JC Police Chief said. “So, by removing that from the street, hopefully we’re going to save some lives.”

A 3-month old child was also in the house during the search and has been left in the care of its grandmother.

The estimated value of the drugs is over $1.2 million based on street values of $1,000 per gram of fentanyl, $100 to $250 per gram for heroin and $100 to $120 dollars per gram for meth.

DeGraw and Graham were both charged with possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.
