FAIRFIELD 45, NORTHWOOD 41
Fairfield claim a win over its Sectional 21 opponents Saturday night in Benton.
NorthWood led 33-25 before Fairfield went on a 15-2 run to claim command. For the night, Fairfield went 14-18 from the free throw line while NorthWood went just 3-4 from the stripe.
The Panther trio of Trent Edwards, Nick Bean and Matt Dutkowski all finished with nine points, Edwards had five rebounds and three assists, Dutkowski five rebounds and Bean four rebounds. Ben Vincent chipped in eight points.
NorthWood (3-3) visits Jimtown Tuesday night.
JOHN GLENN 56, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 37
The power duo of Porter and Barker were too much for Valley to handle.
Porter was 8-17 from the field and 7-11 from the free throw line for 23 points and Barker hit five threes to finish with 19 points. Porter added seven rebounds and four steals for good measure while Porter had three rebounds and two blocks.
Tanner Trippiedi offered up 17 points and a trio of rebounds, assists and steals.
Valley only trailed by five heading into the fourth, 34-29, but allowed the Falcons to outscore them 22-8 the rest of the way.
John Glenn claimed the JV contest 57-42.
Valley (2-3) will take on Peru Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference play.
HUNTINGTON 81, GRACE 69
Haden Deaton had 28 points and Charlie Warner added 14 points, but Grace could not catch Huntington Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Arens had 36 points to boost the Foresters and Konnor Platt added 20 points in the win. The two combined to score 19 of the last 21 points the Foresters scored, a three from Arens at the 6:34 mark of the second half giving Huntington a seven-point lead. Another three from Arens, his fifth of the night, put Huntington up 72-62.
Deaton and Warner combined to go 7-15 from three-point range, but the remainder of the Lancer lineup were 0-11 from range.
Grace pulled down 11 offensive rebounds, which turned into nine points, but lost the total rebound battle 27-22.
Grace (9-4, 1-4 CL) will next play two games in Chandler, Ariz., at the Cactus Classic against Vanguard on Dec. 17 and Thompson Rivers on Dec. 18.
TRITON C 43, WINAMAC 35
Bruce Johnson had a huge game for the Trojans with 19 points. Tyson Yates added seven points and Cole McKinney chipped in six points. Ryan Gregus led the Warriors with 13 points.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN JR. HIGH 45, TRINITY 10
Seth Martin led LCA with 21 points in the lopsided victory Saturday afternoon. Will Hotchkin followed with 11 points and Jamie Wyatt came in with six points. LCA (5-0) hosts Bethany Christian Tuesday.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE 1-1 AT LAKEVIEW TOURNEY
The Lakeview seventh grade boys lost the first round to Maple Creek by a score of 37-45. The Tigers were lead by Isaiah Lara with 13 points and Quinten Maahs added 11 points.
In the consolation game the Tigers defeated East Noble by a score of 45-18. The Tigers were lead by Lara with 11 points. Layton Isbell added 10 points. Julian Saldivar, Maahs and Jack Hill each added six points.
The Tigers are 11-2 on the season.
LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE 2-0 AT LAKEVIEW TOURNEY
The Lakeview eighth grade boys won its tournament, taking both games of the event. In game one of the 46-38 win over East Noble, Jaxson Gould had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Alex Cook had nine points and Tucker Curtis collected eight points and five steals.
In the championships game, Gould continued his scoring touch with 21 points as Lakeview edged Maple Creek 38-37. Curtis, Cook and Nehemiah Wright all had four points apiece in the title game.
TRITON 5TH GRADE 2-0 AT RIVERSIDE TOURNEY
Triton’s fifth grade upended both Bremen and Knox to win the title at Riverside.
Triton beat Bremen 45-22 and then Knox 33-22 in the championship.
