ROCHESTER – TOPP Motorsports announced a donation of just over $8,000 to The Bow Foundation, a rare disease charity that TOPP partnered with for the 2018 season. The team donated an exact total of $8,064.30, as a percentage of the teams 2018 winnings.

The Bow Foundation is focused on supporting medical research and increasing awareness for patients with GNAO1, a rare genetic disorder with no common name.

Roughly 70 children worldwide are impacted by a GNAO1 disorder, including the granddaughter of TOPP Motorsports President and CEO, Kevin Birchmeier. Children with the disease suffer from severe developmental delays, seizures and movement disorders.

“We were honored to have The Bow Foundation displayed on the side of our car this past season,” Birchmeier said. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to such an important cause, and even more so to utilize this national platform to help promote research from my sweet granddaughter’s rare disorder.”

“The entire TOPP Motorsports team went all-in to support the Bow Foundation throughout the 2018 season, and we’re overwhelmed by their donation today,” Bow Foundation co-chairs Emily Bell said. “Donations like this enable the Foundation to fund cutting-edge medical research and secure a better tomorrow for children with a GNAO1 disorder.”

The TOPP Motorsports team plans to continue its partnership with The Bow Foundation throughout the upcoming 2019 season.
TOPP Motorsports, based out of Rochester, was established in 2015. Seasoned racing veteran Justin Grant drives the TOPP Motorsports #4 non-wing sprint car that competes in the United States Auto Club (USAC) AMSOIL National Sprint Car series.
