Warsaw Man Allegedly Batters Female, Throws Her Into Christmas Tree
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly striking a female and then throwing her into a Christmas tree.
James Roosevelt Boose, 47, 183 Downy Drive, Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under the age of 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sunday, Dec. 2, officers with the Warsaw Police Department were dispatched to Downy Drive regarding a domestic battery incident. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female victim, who stated that she and Boose had been arguing. According to the female, Boose became angry and punched her multiple times on the right side of her face and the back of her head while holding her down. She advised that her parents arrived at the residence and witnessed Boose throwing her into the Christmas tree.
Officers observed swelling and redness on the ride side of the female’s face and eye, red marks on her scalp and right forearm and abrasion and swelling to her left wrist. She advised that a child was present when the battery occurred.
The female’s mother stated she observed Boose grab the female by the hair, pick her up and throw her into the Christmas tree. Officers spoke with Boose, who allegedly admitted that he put his hands on the female and knocked the Christmas tree over.
Boose was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Sunday, Dec. 2, on a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
