TIPPECANOE VALLEY 46, WHITKO 45
Trailing all night, Valley took its only lead of the night on Parkur Dalrymple’s game-winner, and the Vikings celebrated their second Three Rivers Conference win of the week at home Friday night.
Trailing by two with just seven seconds left to play, Valley ran an out of bounds play and found Dalrymple, who knocked down a go-ahead 3-pointer, part of a 14-11 final period. Dalrymple hit 5 of 8 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 16 points to go with three assists and two steals in the win, while Tanner Trippiedi scored 11 for the Vikings.
That one-two punch outdid Whitko’s game-high of 23 points and 14 rebounds by Spencer Sroufe. Drake Lewis chipped in nine for the Wildcats, who outscored their hosts 26-14 in the paint but were outscored 21-12 from beyond the arc.
Valley (4-3, 2-0 TRC) hosts Culver next Tuesday. Whitko (2-5, 0-2 TRC) will host Warsaw next Wednesday.
WINAMAC 58, TRITON 21
Triton scuffled to a 21 percent shooting clip, and the Trojans suffered a 58-21 Hoosier North Athletic Conference loss to Winamac in Bourbon Friday night.
The Trojans (4-3, 1-1 HNAC) scored just five points over a woeful 2-of-19 (10.5 percent) first half, falling behind by more than 30 and never really recovering. Ashton Oviedo scored seven, and Beau Hepler finished with six points to lead the home team in the loss, Triton’s first in four games.
Calvin Larkin put up 23 with seven rebounds and three assists to lead the Warriors (4-2, 12- HNAC), while Will Larkin scored 12.
Triton’s JV lost its game, 34-20. Tyson Yates finished with eight points and five rebounds to lead the JV Trojans. Trent Fox scored 13 points with two steals to pace Winamac in that win.
Triton returns to action at Trinity-at-Greenlawn next Thursday.
