Phyllis Geraldine Warner
Phyllis Geraldine “Gerry” Warner, 100, of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, passed away at 8:53 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.
She was born on July 1, 1918, in Mentone, to Fawn (Doran) Tucker and Mars A. Tucker. On Dec. 24, 1940, she was married to Rex Parker, he passed away in 1976. On July 21, 1979, she married Arden D. Warner, he passed away on May 19, 2014.
Mrs. Warner was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where she was a 1936 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She then attended Manchester College for two years and received her Associates Degree, after which she taught for three years at Beaver Dam School. She was a strong believer and attended Center United Methodist Church in Silver Lake, as well as attending Warsaw Wesleyan Church. She lived a long and full life and very much loved her family especially all of her grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother and leaves behind two sons: Terry Parker, Silver Lake; Lynn (Dianna) Parker, Silver Lake; daughter: Paulette (Alan) Holsinger, The Villages, Fla.; two step-daughters: Ann Rudig, Warsaw; and Sue (Randy) Wagner, The Villages, Fla. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and her brother, Devon Tucker.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Kent Harting. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Lake View Cemetery in Silver Lake. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
