Nappanee Library Announces Activities For Remainder Of February
NAPPANEE — The Nappanee Public Library has announced its list of activities for the upcoming week.
Cover To Cover Book Club — Feb. 19, 6:30 to 8 p.m. (adults)
Titles alternate between fiction and non-fiction. In February, read “A Long Way Home” by Saroo Brierley. For more information, or to reserve a copy of an upcoming selection, see any service desk, or call (574) 773-7919. No registration is necessary.
Pet Wellness With Essential Oils — Feb. 19, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (adults)
The library invites interested patrons to join the group and discuss how to use essential oils on furry friends. Participants will learn tips and tricks about using oils to lessen pain, allergies, anxiety and more.
Preschool Storytime — Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, 10 to 10:45 a.m. (ages 3-5)
Children, accompanied by a favorite adult, are invited to have fun with engaging books, songs and activities. To register, call (574) 773-7919.
The Button Keepers — Feb. 20, 10 a.m. to noon. (adults)
Patrons are invited to join this fun, new club to learn about vintage, antique, and modern clothing buttons. The program focuses on the unique art and history of different buttons. No registration is necessary.
Southern Care Hospice — Feb. 25, 2 to 4 p.m. (adults)
Participants will talk about the differences in nursing homes and assisted living, presented by Southern Care Hospice. No registration is necessary.
Creative Canvas — Feb. 25, 6:30 to 8 p.m. (adults)
This new bi-monthly program will teach participants how to paint a simple picture on canvas, step-by-step. Cost is $10 and includes all supplies. Register by Feb. 18. Coffee and treats will be provided.
Game Night — Feb. 25, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (teens and adults)
Local resident, Dan Slaven will be hosting Game Night at NPL, bi-weekly. Participants can bring their own game or try a new one. There will be a featured game each month, such as Sushi Go, Mysterium, and Boss Monster. No registration is necessary.
Art In The Making — Feb. 26, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (ages 5-12)
Kids are invited to dress for mess and join the library to create non-traditional kitchen table art. In February, participants can use the supplies provided to make colorful banded blocks. Register by Feb. 19, by calling (574) 773-7919 or visit nappaneelibrary.org.
Pokemon Club — Feb. 28, 4 to 5 p.m. (ages eight and older)
Patrons interested in Pokémon Go or trading, battling, and discussing all things Pokémon, can join the library for its first Pokémon Club meeting. Snacks and crafts will be available while a Pokémon movie plays on the big screen. No registration is necessary.
