Cleo M. Combs
Cleo M. Combs, 76, Warsaw, passed away at 6:42 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Grace Village in Winona Lake.
He was born on July 31, 1942, in Kirby, W. Va., to Maxine (Smith) Combs and Elzie Woodrow Combs. On Jan. 30, 1961, he was married to Bonnie Jean (Shanholtz) Combs, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1961. He was the owner and operator of an auto parts store in Sanford, Florida and when he retired he moved to the Warsaw area in 2003. He was a member of Leesburg Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed volunteering for Grace Brethren International Missions. He was a huge stock car racing fan and loved Richard Petty and Mark Martin. He was also a Grace College basketball fan. Most of all he loved his family, he will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Jean Combs, Warsaw; daughter: Tammy (Rick) Koontz, Warsaw; and his son: Allan Combs, Lake City, Fla. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brother: Donald (Debbie) Combs, Inwood, W. Va.; and his sister: Dorothy Combs, Stephens City, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ricky Combs, and his sister, Betty Shoemaker.
Visitation will be held 3-6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at Leesburg Grace Brethren Church, 101 W. School Street, Leesburg. His funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the church and will be officiated by Pastor Tim Sprankle. Burial will take place at a later date at Forest Glen Cemetery in Green Spring, West Virginia. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
