Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:11 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, West US 30, north of North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Leann U. Harris, 26, West CR 200S, Warsaw; and Mallory J. Roberts, 33, West CR 100N, Warsaw. Harris was traveling west on US 30 when she struck Roberts’ vehicle in the left turn lane of US 30. Damage up to $5,000.
3:38 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, South Scott Street, near East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Barbara Mendoza Juarez, 30, Wooster Road 8, Winona Lake; and Jeremy J. Bever, 41, East Center Street, Warsaw. Mendoza Juarez was traveling westbound on Winona Avenue when her vehicle ran a red traffic light at an intersection. This caused her to strike Bever’s vehicle on the passenger side. Bever stated that it looked like Mendoza Juarez had gone around a vehicle just prior to the crash. Mendoza Juarez was transported to Parkview Hospital for head pain. A passenger in Mendoza Juarez’s vehicle, Anna V. Ramirez-Mendoza, 12, Winona Lake, complained of neck pain due to the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
2:57 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, Miner Drive, south of Lakewood Hills Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Landin D. Taylor, 27, South CR 150E, Columbia City; and Alan R. Hecht, 64, South CR 950W, Mentone. Taylor was driving north on Miner Drive when he struck Hecht’s vehicle in the side mirror. Damage up to $2,500.
Elkhart
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
7:36 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, CR 46 and CR 7, near Nappanee. Driver: Ryan Bontrager, 50, Warsaw, and Harold Odum, 60, Middlebury. Odum complained of neck and shoulder pain and was taken to Goshen Hospital. Bontrager could not stop his vehicle at the intersection due to the slick roadway, going into the intersection and hitting the Odum vehicle.
