Beaman Home To Host Third Annual Angels Of Hope Luncheon April 17
WINONA LAKE — The Beaman Home will host its third annual Angels of Hope luncheon April 17.
The event, at Christ’s Covenant Church, 2090 E. Pierceton Road, Winona Lake, coincides with Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Check-in is at 11:30 a.m., and the program begins at noon, according to information provided by The Beaman Home.
The annual event is a fundraiser for those who want to support victims of domestic violence. Beaman will share how they provide education, awareness, and preventative resources to the community about domestic violence and sexual assault, in addition to emergency shelter for those in need.
This year’s guest speaker is Amy Batten, who will share her personal experience of how life with low self-esteem affected her throughout high school. She overcame being bullied, intimidated, stalked and threatened by a teenage boy. Her story will encourage others, according to the press release, as she expresses how the trauma impacted her life, and how she has fought to become a warrior.
The public is invited to attend, but reservations are needed by April 10. Call (574) 267-7701 or email [email protected] to RSVP. Attendees are asked to bring a four-pack of toilet paper for admission. The Beaman Home will also accept – and greatly appreciates – monetary donations during the event. Such donations keep the emergency shelter open 24/7 to assist domestic violence and sexual assault victims, the news release said.
First Source Bank is the HOPE Sponsor for the Angels of Hope Luncheon. Other Sponsors include Paragon Medical, Kosciusko Community Hospital, The Law Office of Travis McConnell, Parkview Warsaw Hospital, NOON Optimist Club, Tri-Kappa, and Chuck and Lois Niemier. Additional sponsorship options are available.
