NOBLESVILLE – The 47th running of the IHSAA Gymnastics State Finals took place Saturday, wrapping up a short but sweet season for the tumblers and high fliers.

Chesterton repeated as state champion, winning its fifth overall state title with 113.875 points to outdistance runner-up Fort Wayne Carroll’s 110.975.

Chesterton also headlined the individual events. Mia Pak and Sophia Hunzelman both won two event titles, Pak scoring 9.7 on vault and 9.6 on bars, and Hunzelman also scored 9.6 on bars and 9.725 on beam. Jordan Bush won the floor for the Trojans with a 9.725 and was second in all-around at 38.10, nearly the champ just short of Fort Wayne Carroll’s Ashelynn Steinke and her 38.125.

McCutcheon’s Crysta Dilley also scored 9.6 to create a three-way tie for honors on bars.
